PROGRAMME

The children will be shown how to prepare and stage a puppet show and they will be provided with the tools and the basic skills for telling a story with the language of the animated figures (puppets, silhouettes, shadows etc.). They will also make the sets and the characters.

The theme will be the forest: the symbols will be forrest trees and creatures. The focal point of the workshop is the story, the structure, the theme, the subject. The puppets are the vehicle and the language is what the children will learn to use.

The performance brings the children onto the stage, facing an audience. The staging requires them to think about the space available for the story and the basic techniques for using their voices and animating their characters.
